I see many people being ok with older men dating younger women, but it appears to be looked down upon to be getting lays with older women as a younger guy.

I can only answer in retrospect. It can be a nice adventure and an experience, because older ladies are a bit more grateful. But as a lasting relationship for a young man with family prospects, it would be out of question.
