Anybody miss the retail game cases?
We can still do that, but the problem is we have steam so there's no need for discs and I do remember that we are the PC master race, I thank my lord for joining this heaven.
But still, anybody miss them? Sometimes I love to read them.
I'm having an idea to print all of my games' box art & back though.

I love them, I've got shelves and bookcases full of hundreds if not a few thousand of them from years of collecting and playing video games. Makes me feel like I live in a gamestop, I could use a few more action figures here and there.

I rather want them back because I want my game to be ready as soon as possible than waiting for it to download. (As my internet is sh*t)

No, i have a large box in storage full of old game boxes and trying to find the registration numbers for them is a nightmare. I don't know what to do with all the crap.

You might be able to sell them on eBay. Example: Someone has the disc but missing the manual or the box they'll buy it.

I liked owning the cases, boxes, and game manuals.

Not like they even make decent manuals anymore :steamsad:

I can remember the manual that with the first civilization game, like reading a novel, and old simulation games, they had massive manuals too.

i used to love a good manual for reference, now its just alt-tab, search the web, then back to your game.

I forgot what manual it was or for what game, I should have it around some where but it was thick enough to kill someone if you hit them over the head with hard enough. I also love a good thick manual.
I missed when they were good. Quality manuals, cloth maps, figures, ect. Now you have to pay more for that, if it is even offered. Sorry, I don't want a character's bust for $150-$200.

I like the digital downloads over boxed these days. Now I don't feel like I am wasting paper or creating more garbage. Many games put the manuals on the disk too, so there is no real point in buying them.

They could just make a cover and put the activation code in it.

Some do. I have heard of cardboard boxes that contain nothing but a code inside. No disk or anything else.

Very limited in what they supply, but there is a company that attempts to cater to this...

Would be nice if PC games should have hard copies or at the very least, use an alternative to DVDs, I'm not going to buy games at 50GB constantly if it's going to take a weekend to download them.

Fortunately, at least consoles still have hard copies so I don't have to wait for a long download to finish, well, aside of Day One updates, which I don't get.
Delta51 (Bị đình chỉ) 3 Thg10, 2016 @ 11:39am
Well, we even can have a very simple task for that. But digitally.
Just have game folders on dekstop and that's it.
Red Shift 3 Thg10, 2016 @ 12:00pm
Or buy empty cases and print off the art work - sorted!

Well, if it takes up space you can just line them up on the wall, like tools your dads use to work with. Actually that's a good idea.
Come on guys, haven't you seen reddit posts and their game collections?
I would prefer if my room looked somewhat normal.

If you could actually play with only the hard copy maybe, but since every single game requires an additional download or online verification all they do it waste space, and create trash.
