You are paranoid. Take the tin foil hat off.
Remaining 99% goes to IGN.
+ steam api data or scraping profile sites directly to avoid steam api limitations.
humble did not have more information about steam user accounts then anyone else can gather himself.
i wanted also mention tinfoil hats but since that was already done...
is that your site btw?
Interesting though. But then I guessHumble Bundle wasn't doing that great.
Suppose there's a lesson here.
Maybe if they'd stuck to doing good weekly bundles instead of pushing the monthly thing they'd be in a position to avoid a buyout or at least command a higher buy out price.
For me, the key thing with Humble is that they are an alternate source of DRM-free games aside from GOG. And they often offer DRM-free direct downloads (or even (fully legal) torrents, if I recall correctly) alongside Steam keys.
If you cut that out of the picture, then a good number of my potential purchases will end up being on either GOG or Steam, and since I've lately been prioritizing DRM-free-ness, when the two conflict I'd go with GOG in most cases since I'd be forced to choose (if Humble offered both I'd pick them, though it still matters whether it's on sale when it's convenient for me to pick it up.
I guess one could say "Humble was one of the good guys", but...what exactly does that mean anyway, in practical terms? Is that just a feeling? Because if so that's no more meaningful than one's distaste for IGN.

Just FYI...
why did ign decide to acquire humble bundle
