Friend's Profile Showcase

So we all know that steam has a bunch of showcases, from rarest badges to items you have up for trade. But what I would like to see is a new showcase that would allow you to select a handful of friends from your friendslist, and write little tidbits about them. So say they integrated it and you can showcase 3 friends. The showcase would display the 3 selected friends horizontally, and below each friend you could write a little custom caption thing, explaining who the person is or why they're awesome. I just think it would be a cool way to get people more involved in the profiles of others, and allow people looking at other's profiles to see their closest friends. At the moment, the friends shown on your profile are limited to the 5 with the highest levels. Yes, that is rewarding to those who pay good money and a lot of time into the community, but it kind of diminishes the fact that you would want people to see the people you think are the coolest. I think this showcase would be a good idea, or possibly an alternative where there could be a setting in your friends list where you could pick how you want your friends to be listed.

Nobody cares if it's true or not, they will read that and at least a few people will take it as true. Watch him be blocked from several servers because of things he didn't do.

And you have shy people whose worse fear is to actually be noticed and will not be pleased at someone displaying them for the world to see.

I do think a setting in your profile, like a "Do not allow friends to pin me", is to be implemented along with this suggestion. Unlike your other showcases, it concerns other people who should have a say in what others do with them.

Yeah, I see what you mean there. While some peopel may use it wrongly, im sure most people have that one low level friend who they think is pretty awesome. I don't know, I jsut make suggestiosn off of what I see.

Hello to ya!..I agree in many ways..1) Only if you get the "persons permission" first 2) Explain why they are "special" to you 3) You "as a steam gamer" have the option to have "Do not allow friends to pin me", so the shy ones can back out of being show cased ...But in all, If this was implemented correctly could be another cool feature! But the suggestion was to showcase Friends, not random people on Steam. If you put up crap about someone on your Friends list, they could just unfriend and block you and you wouldn't be able to showcase them any more...

Yeah, you have a fair point there. The only problem with that is that you don't receive notifications when friends update their profile. So, maybe to fix that, they can implement a system that notifies you whenever a friend pins you.

You know, now that people are going back and forth with suggestions and edits, it's starting to sound like a system that could actually be implemented into steam. I for one think it would be awesome.
