Language Translator in Chat.

It would be possible to use some translation software, for example the Google Translator API or others to facilitate the life of those who do not get along with languages ... a direct translation directly in chat ... is it possible?

Don't know if that would do much since Google Translate still starts creating gibberish on anything more than a couple sentences.

Valve can't even get the spell check to work right, and you expect them to get something FAR more complex to work?

Google, who can put 10 times the amount of people onto 1 project than Valve has total people can't even get translate to fully work right all the time. There are times I get lots of gibberish out of it and they are a company dedicated to information tech, Valve is not.

I also don't want the extra bloat, I can always copy and paste into google translate if I really need it.

... in all honesty I was waiting for someone to propose this type of translation. Also because the implementation would be minimal, as a type of work BUT it would REALLY be very useful. And if someone prefers having to copy / paste, OK NO PROBLEM, but why not make things easier? Language is really VERY IMPORTANT and ENGLISH is not always a UNIVERSAL language FOR NOTHING.

Yes, but as already mentioned, Google Translate is probably the best there is, and it still doesn't do a good enough job yet.

It's also not a realistic expectation for Valve to just invent a better translator.

Translations don't work for jargon, frequently misspelt texts and all that across different languages. And there are frequent problems with non-indoeuropean languages because they tend to work completely different. It simply won't work.

no, that is just because this voluntary behavior was established 15+ years ago and Valve fueled it.
i have zero doubts that for certain languages the quality and update frequency would be much better, if they were done by professionals.

just because you can pay google with personal data, does not mean Valve can do that on a corporate scale.

the platforms you probably got the idea from ... the things you post and write on there is literally the first step for them to squeeze money out of you through advertising.
what you post here has zero value for Valve, Steam has no advertising.
