Let's leave the gambling related stuff out.

No.

Steam will not get into making any thing to do with gambling real money because that opens a whole can of worms legally on where they would legally be allowed to be at.
Well they already have slot machines AKA cases so I don't really see much of a leap from that to poker other than that they can pretend cases aren't gambling.

Steam is not a casino

No thanks. There's already 100 million gambling sites on the internet. Type bet or poker on google and you'll find a million search results from just that.

So some simple gambling isn't allowed but they are legally going to allow this: http://www.vg247.com/2015/09/02/sex-game-kindred-spirits-on-the-roof-completely-uncensored-on-steam/

Okay, so there are gambling games on steam but you can't bet real money. Can you earn real money in any steam game?

As was pointed out, you do not put real money into it and get real money out. You can only put in game money in the game and all of the winnings are in game only.

Nope, there are no games on steam where you can earn real money from doing stuff in game.

Online gambling is regulated by very strict rules and their sites are strictly for adults.
That's simply not going to happen.

Not to mention banned in some countries. Why would anyone limit its market by adding such a feature?
Also let us think a moment about what hackers can do with such a feature or how support would get bombarded with "my little brother has gambled away 1,000 bucks"

Oh well. I just feel a bit cheated by wasting time leveling my steam account. It's very pointless I found out.

Level 11 takes 2 minutes with a fresh account and just $7 of budget.
