steam why you dont spend a litle of your time and money and start to ban ip to all that cheats, that way cheaters think twice before use it

Because ips are way too easy to change. Besides, an ip can be shared by many people, so you think it's fair to punish innocent people?
i play combat arms, i dont know if you know the game, and allways they catch a hacker they give ban to ip, you dont share your ip.

And so what?

Just because Nexon uses an outdated system doesnt mean Valve should follow suit.
and valve have a good system? allways find cheaters i dont say to valve change his system, just want they spend more time improving they anticheat.

Share? Yes and no. ISPs recycle IP addresses. Turn off your modem for 15 minutes, you usualy get a new IP address when you reconnect. Your olf IP is then given to someone else, who now is IP banned from playing Combat Arms.

You didn't share it, but it was used by someone else. You could also recive an IP that was banned, even though you never cheated.

They constantly are improving their AC system. Problem is, they are restricted on what they can do, while the cheaters are not. This means any AC system has to play catch-up with cheat makers.

VAC is actualy a good AC system. It has very few false positives as it detects known cheats. The only issue is that it is a delayed ban. This, however, works in their favor as cheat makers can't test their cheats against it.

and how nexon does that? because i know that they do it, also nexon report all the sites that promove combat arms cheats, why valve dont do nothing? only overwatch? that's very effective?

VAC and OW are working just fine. You should take a peek in the VAC forum someday soon and you'll see a whole bunch of banned people crying how they're innocent. Do keep in mind though, that online games always had, and always will have, cheaters. You can't get rid of them permanently.

they cry and they buy the game again and again cheating, otherwise if they have ip ban they dont be able to play it again

Did you even read post #5?

They are not.

From what I am reading, they are restricting accounts based on IP, not banning IPs.

There are claims of Hardware ID banning, though that is still easy to get around.

Nexon reports the sites...and what? Nothing. All they can do is report those sites. Sadly, creating cheats isn't illegal, and using them is only a violation of a game's TOS.

Game developers have tried suing over the hacks, but none have won (that I am aware of), neither have sites been taken down over such reports. Even if they are, the site owners can always move the site to a diffrent host, then the process starts all over again.

Because Nexon doesn't and Valve knows it is pointless.

IP's are like license plates. It's real easy to drive around with fake ones, and to change them as needed. And unlike license plates, it's not a crime or felony to do that.

Valve doesn't do it because 20 years of internet history says it's completely ineffective. If Nexon does actually use IP bans, they're idiots.

Banning ip addresses would be the biggest waste of time.
banning IPs is stupid and dumb.

1. relatively easy to change for a large amount of people, even for inexperienced PC users.

2. IPs (v4 AND v6) are shared in big amounts. if you are living in special circumstances it can happen without even you knowing it that you share the same IP with multiple thousands of people. examples: tunnel-based ISPs(china), living in dormitories(campuses), dependent on internet cafe usage and so on.

in other words, cheaters can change their IPs on demand and totally innocent people are banned because one on their network cheated, so banning IPs is useless and causing problems.

that is why you create an account system and ban the account and the only way to get back in the game for a cheater is to create a new account and for most serious competitive games, you have to repurchase the game, a.k.a. cheater paywall.
