RE-enable the easy re-ordering of showcases!

What the heck?!!!

SO Steam made me aware of this awesome (I liked it) Steam recap (Reddit jealousy? ;)). And they persuaded me to add it to my profile. Which, me being a Steam fanboy and all, did. Or better put: tried to do.

OBVIOUSLY I wanted to move this to the top of my profile, like I could for most of last year. I'm a writer, first extra showcase I got was the personal info and I always moved it on top to get peoples attention.

NOPE, Steam updated their UI with useless checkboxes and what not and now we can't move things into a different sequence.

Really?!! It takes all the fun away from what used to be profile maintencance...

The actual suggestion

Can we please get the option back to customize the sequence of our profile showcases?
... like the way it was for most of last year?!!!

Yeah I just noticed this two and totally agree. When you have over 10 showcases in the perfect order it makes it pretty frustrating when you just want to add the Steam Replay to the top. It used to be so easy with the drag feature. Hopefully they bring it back soon.

It was simple, logical and most important, it worked.

Totally agreed. I just came across the same issue, I thought maybe my client was bugged but looking at the forums confirms my fears. I see no reason whatsoever to remove that feature..

The worst part is that if you try to substitute to put in order, it removes your customization, killing completely the purpose.

I have no idea why they replaced the draggable elements and buttons on the sides with those top buttons. If it was to optimise the mobile experience, why not make it a fallback for mobile only?

Besides, having them in the middle where things can change position on the page gives me the impression there would be lots of problems with misclicks and having to do everything all over again after getting to a completely different page.

It may either be that whatever checks the levels was borked at the time you tried to edit your showcases, or you submitted a faulty edit because showcases have been pretty broken ever since they brought upgrades.

Back up any text you have in your showcases, then try fiddling around with random edits and re-orders (refresh every time) until you get it right.

Or, you could instead ask support to roll back or reset your showcases, but I tried and nothing came to be. I had to fix it myself by, again, randomly mashing buttons until it fixed itself.

Yes, this needs to come back, I hardly used that many showcases but I decided to add more, and was annoying in how I needed to change out other showcases to put them where I wanted rather than drag and drop them where I wanted.

Oh yes, I was literally like "wtf" when I tried to edit them today. I have a neatly decorated profile with a lot of showcases and seeing this change really made me flip.

Do hope they will bring the drag feature back!

Now, in order to simply swap two showcases in the profile, I need to delete them, save and then re-create them again from the scratch. This is a huge step backwards from the previous interface.
Drag-and-drop feature was a great tool for re-ordering.

I immediately noticed the change too. Funny enough, many years ago I suggested the feature and people shot me down. Now it's an appreciated feature.
