Steam's LITE version
It's possible a Steam's LITE version? Sometimes Steam Laucher use more CPU and RAM then games. And the differences with the Chrome Version is just the Library and u can download and run the games. If it's posibble i definitely will use that, cause potato pc. In the last years I noticed a decrease in the performance of the launcher, and in the mb/s of downloading in Argentina's Servers (50-150 kb/s XDD If change the region to Sao Pablo I download 6,5 mb/s).

That is not a lite mode. A lite mode needs to be
1. Small in space
2. Small in ram usage (even in minimode it is not)
3. A library that isn't handled by chromium.

Won't happen, not from Valve at least... If you observed where they headed years ago, it's all browser-based crap. Corporate idiocy. :dr_angry:

All those aren't going to be possible.

And yet some of Steam's competitors have managed to achieve it.

1. space is endless.

2. dunno really why people complain about ram usage if 16gb is bare minimum you get today if you buy low-budget pre-builts.

3. in order of financial relevancy:
xbox, ea, ubi, humble, itch, jolt, gog, epic
all chromium based clients.
you're welcome.

This is no excuse to be wasteful with ram usage.

YOu can have small ram usage, or you can have smooth responsive performance.

If Valves not going to make games then they should make a Steam program from scratch for long term self reliance and optimization.
