AAA Developer Filter is needed. Grown Ups with jobs do not have time to sort through all the garbage titles.
Steam stopped looking professional long ago, and now appears more like a service that distributes games made by students and independant devs. And most of it is garbage. Some of you may not agree, that is because your to young to know the difference or have not bought or played enough PC Games in your life to know better.

Im sick and tired of indie titles. I want to go to the store and only see COMPLETED games by PROFESSIONAL STUDIOS.

Im getting closer and closer to giving up on PC Games because of this kind of thing. At least on a Playstation there is no such thing as an indie game or early access.

Just let me search for the high quality stuff. I work 60 hours a week and have zero interest in lesser games, let alone trying to sort them from the good stuff.

Rant Over.

There is.
There are also completely garbage titles. Life of the Black Tiger, anyone?

Yeah, Fallout 76, Warcraft 3 Reforged or the intial PC release of Batman Arkham City really fit that one...

Then why are you positingv. Its not like you're going to miss any AAA games, what with the bombastic ad campaigns.

And you are right. Most games are garbage.. but here's the kicker, no two people on this planet will ever agree on which ones are the garbage

Bingo.

As a fellow "grown up with a job", AAA titles rarely interest me, and I find much more enjoyment out of indie games.
Production quality =/= fun, in my opinion.

You don't need cutting edge cgi to enjoy a movie...
You can easily enjoy a Howa era Godzilla movie after all.
Entertainment is a funny thing. And I too find more interesting things in the medium tier because those are where you find risks being taken or when the developers are focused on pleasing a core nichhe audience as opposed to mass market appeal.

i have more indie titles in my library than AAA. I just don't find as many AAA titles interesting.. I agree with Running, where as ive seen unity games that are cheaper, but more fun than some AAA games.

I fail to see how this rant justifies the statement “AAA developer filter is needed.”

What you like =/= what I like =/= what someone else likes.

Learn to use the filter and Steam Labs.

I'm a "grown-up with a job" and I enjoy both games made by AAA developers and games made by indie developers.

I don't usually make fun of other people's orthography, but it's ironic to see mistakes when a person is so condescending (and accuses people who don't share his views as being "to young") in the same sentence.

experimental filtering

cheers.

Filters aren't working anyway, the experimental search does partially work yet bundles from any kind of dev or publisher still pops, if you check ignore option from drop down menu and refresh the list, it will hide said bundle once, after that it will come back and you will get stuck in a loop

Exploring "Specials" section during major events or not will still make ignored products to appear

If you ignore a dev like Capcom it will still make that stupid take over banner appear on store's home page and the footer banner on the special menu can't be hidden

If you ignore a generic dev during a sale their take over banner will disappear from store's home page after a refresh and the footer will mostly do the same

If you want to partially hide problematic junk and their related banners the solution I have found for now is to edit webkit .css file by adding these lines

.steam_curators_ctn {
display: none !important;
}

.live_streams_ctn {
display: none !important;
}

.home_page_takeover_sizer {
display: none !important;
}

.home_page_takeover_link {
display: none !important;
}

.community_recommendations_by_steam_labs_ctn {
display: none !important;
}

.marketingmessage_area.home_ctn {
display: none !important;
}

.valveindex-banner, .banner {
display: none !important;
}

Problem is the banner will still appear on the background but it won't bother you as there will be no need to scroll down or fear for a missclick
Still no solution to permanently hide greyed out boxes from ignored junk and I doubt Valve will ever address that cause "muh money"

see how the "some products" thing is pointless as the triple A junk is still there

So basically you're insulting people and telling them theyre not as wise as you if they dont agree with your opinion? LOL FOH.

BTW, I dont disagree completely with your sentiments, however:

Plenty of AAA titles are pure ♥♥♥♥; unfinished and poorly done. Anthem ring a bell any one? Destiny 1 and 2 before their fixes (and I still dislike them after their fixes).
Actually im not going to list any further. There are literally 100s upon 100s of games that failed made by AA and AAA studios. Far too many to name. And some destroyed their franchises (mercenaries 2!)

Next: ok, sure. Most indie games are pure trash. But plenty of people love this 8 bit and poorly done stuff you and I call garbage. It's their right to like it. There are so many filters you can use in the game store. How are you talking smack about any one, have the nerve to misspell "you're", and then show you cant use all the tools we have to filter games? LMFAO!!!

Lastly: If there is any problem with steam, it's that they don't have the resources and people to check every game out before it's put in the store. Valve definitely should stop companies from lying. For example: That game Nine Trials claims it is now translated in English. It isn't true. A ton of pertinent info is untranslated. Steam should NOT be allowing people to lie. Especially unregulated nations like China and Russia. Valve is greedy af, I assume, and couldn't care less that they allow pure ♥♥♥♥ on their store. Im not talking about "eye of the beholder" stuff. Im talking about games that simply dont work or use the excuse of early access to release a ♥♥♥♥ product. Steam allows these shady vile companies and people to charge money for ♥♥♥♥ products. You do have 2 hours of gameplay to get a refund, but for some games that means barely leaving the tutorial or having a bunch of cutscenes. Couple those with a character creator and you can easily lose 2 hours without ever having REALLY tried the game. Valve needs to get their ♥♥♥♥ together for sure.

But your post is pure ignorance for no reason, on many levels. Most importantly in that ignorance is you not using the filters we already have.

I think the OP just wants an EPIC curated experience... :gaper:
