Bulk Purchases for Organisers
Hello,

I run a gaming club where I work.
For our upcoming Christmas LAN I needed to buy 21 copies of the same game to gift to attendees. It's a Christmas LAN tradition!
Buying 21 copies of the same game on Steam is quite a painful experience. You get about 5-6 transactions in and (rightly so) your credit card provider blocks your card.
Then Steam itself if I'm not mistaken blocks you from making any more transactions.
Not to mention the charges for each card transaction...

So, to put it in the form of a good JIRA:
As an organisation/club organiser I would like the ability to purchase multiple copies of a game so that I can gift them to multiple people at the same time.

Cheers,
J

contact the dev/pub of the game. Steam is a platform for customers, not retailers.

"You get about 5-6 transactions in and (rightly so) your credit card provider blocks your card."

Easy way around that is to credit your account with the amount needed.

But if you go to the publisher you could potentially get a 50% or more discount - try haggling.

Or set up a wishlist watch on the game you want with IsThereAnyDeal.com and you could potentially buy 21 keys on sale ready to dish out later. And with other sites you may be able to buy all 21 keys in one go.

I actually contacted Steam support who directed me to this forum.

Can you explain how I can prove this?

google parts of the text what Steam support answered you .... that is just a pre-defined block of text they put into nearly every reply. makes no sense to most of the time, like for this here ... buying in bulk will never be available, that is not an option you provide to a normal customer.

I see what you are saying regarding their reply. As for it never being an option I think it's important to ask. I trust that Steam keep tabs on how often something is requested so that they can identify features that would be valuable.
