Steam Media Player, Where is it?

Steam has been selling Movies and Anime bundles for a long time now, I've bought many myself, but where is the media player?

The current Stream option does not offer any way to create and manage play lists for anime bundles ect, you can't even bookmark your progress through a season in your Steam library.

When are we getting an inbuilt media player? (Please make it a quality one)

Also I think steam should expand on it's movie collection, make it more 'up to date'. Steam is growing, let it continue to grow beyond games. :)

I hope never. The music player is already unnecessary bloat. I really do not need another media player on my PC I'll never use.

Get KMPlayer or VLC. They worl perfectly well and are regularly maintened.

Why reinvent the wheel, there is a ton of mediaplayers out there, no need for more bloat in the client, the musicplayer is a good example, it's so bad/basic (has close to no features) it should never have made it into the client imo.

Steam is not an "all in one Tool" and I hope it will never turn into one.

can you use VLC to stream Steam purchased content? if not why are you even mentioning it?

built-in for Steam-only content, at least the video thing. the music player is an abomination of a piece of software. supports nearly nothing and behaves like the alpha version of winamp.

the current playing position should be saved in the cloud for each video file. so you should have no issue continuing to watch where you stopped before.

no need for and some codecs are not allowed for commercial distribution. so compatibility will never surpass already established players like VLC.

that is not up for Steam to decide. nothing on Steam at this point in on here because Steam asked for it. product owners put their stuff on Steam on their demand, not the other way around.

yeah this whole idea of omg dont cause bloat is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid lmfao. the average gamer has like 4TB of storage and we're talking about bloat. Even without 4 TB we're talking about tens of MBs of bloat vs Thosands of gigabytes of storage lmfao - does not compute-

Steam making a media player 1 wouldnt matter if another media player was better as long as it had use its so small. 2 it could work better on their systems. 3 no one expected steam link software to be the fastest remote viewing option yet here we are.
