Gif Image for badges at max level

It would be cool to have a gif as the max level of a badge so say for borderlands it could be claptrap dancing or something, It would incentivise more market transactions and keep cool with everyone to show off on their profile

Not going to happen. Mostly because it's up to the games developer or publisher to create the cards, emoticons, backgrounds, and badges. Valve doesn't do any of that and isn't going to change the 1000's of already existing badges.

GIFs should have been banned from Steam a long time ago.

Besides what was said above I think the bigger issue is that its distracting, even that I do think its a cool idea, I wish that maybe they do it with an ability to freeze it (site wide)

The idea isn't bad, although I'd limit it to Foil badges.

The main issue is that Valve isn't going to go back and modify the existing badges to animate them, and they certainly can't make every developer and publisher update their badges as well. They could easily maintain restrictions over an animated badges file size so it's not bandwith intensive.

Well clearly does not need to be on all badges, will not want a horrible gif just because a developer is really not into it

If it is added I think it just needs to be allowed as an option for developers and they can set it as they wish

I idea itself is neat, but I wouldn't want animated stuff on Steam. All ready bad enough with animated gifs for anime artworks on profiles.
