REPLY BUTTON TO PROFILE COMMENTS

For me it is very much needed. just like what I have experienced a while ago: There's a guy who wants to offer me a trade. I don't know the sender. And there's no way to reply to him via pm without even adding him as a friend. So I don't know how to reply in a way that he can be notified. So adding a reply button to the comment is very much needed. and it's more easier/user friendly.

If there's a way around this, please tell me. Thanks!

If the comment by the person is still the latest one, he will be notified as soon as you answer on your profile anyhow.

There are already so many stupid things with steam but this one has to be somewhere on top.

Can't even press a comment and add some reaction, would've been enough, even with their own ugly ass smileys haha.

e.g. give a person who left you a nice comment, or a question, some kind of recognition would be nice!

The thing about the "@" style is, every response is a new post to your profile. It gives unnecessary volume of comments to your profile. imo, it is stressful to the eye. With a reply button to a comment, you can segregate every conversation. Therefore, your comments section would be neat and can easily navigated.

I´m not sure if the comment section of your profile is the right place to have a conversation. I think those people want something from you, but you do not know them.
I would get very upset if someone would post something on my profile trying to contact me out of the blue, in an attempt to get me to do something.
There is going to be hell to pay.

Maybe just remove it's comment?

You already did by posting here, this is the only place to to add feedback and suggestions you'd like to see added to Steam.

I would like this too. A ' Show replies ' button would be nice to avoid having too many comments on a profile.

Being able to respond to nice comments would be better... When someone compliments you on anything, a simple "thank you" is mandatory if you're somewhat civilized. Steam makes us look like ungrateful douchebags... We know, L4D3 noir Half Life 3 is ever gonna see daylight. At least add this simple feature to your platform then? Cheers.

THIS why can't you reply to comments? I just got a reply on a video and the only way to reply is to make another comment, in which you can't even tag the original commenter? Such a simple basic feature that is missing from Steam urrgh :(

commentary functions on Steam are clearly done in a public space because of missing "basic features".

a commenter has the option to subscribe to ugc/profile/thread.

so it is their choice to commit to a conversation with everyone on Steam, so they will get notifications for all comments as all comments are part of the conversation.

tagging people is the dumbest thing that was ever developed. on twitter f.e. people use it to hold public conversations, literally the equivalent of putting your phone on speaker and make a call ... annoying af ... twitter has a direct/private message feature .. Steam also has that, you just have to add them as friends, utilize that if you wanna speak to someone directly.

and f.e. this quote here from your post ... it is just text, it does not do anything to you, if you get notifications for this thread, it is because you subscribed willingly to this thread, not because i quoted you.
