Steam do not know how to spell the capital of Ukraine?

hi, i am wuddih and city names have localized versions in other languages depending on the transliteration.

aside from that little fact, geospatial data on Steam is older then 10 years, only available in romanized english and the whole thing needs an update and localization, which will happen eventually within the next 10 years. they wont change any single entries, especially when it is not completely wrong, like here.

The spelling now is way too new anyways. It'll be updated in the next decade or so.

It's not "the old name". It was simply the localized spelling for English. In German it's still Kiew for example.
It's not different to חֲנֻכָּה which is translitterated into Hanukkah or Chanukah to only name the two most popular spellings. Or القرآن into Quran or Koran.

Seeing what's left on the cities around the front. If the ruskies gets there, there won't even be a capital to take. Seems to be the only way they can achieve anything.

that was a canned reply.
neither Steam support could have done anything nor will someone who can do something change one entry of a overall massively outdated dataset.

this may get updated all it once some day.
until then, things like this here or contacting support is just an application for a circus.
