Option that lets you see profile views

If it comes with an on/off switch and is off by default, sure. I don't care about it, nor do I understand why people would want to see such a thing.

Your opinion is good, but not as likely. Because steam is not a social media platform, and what you say will make people find themselves in a competition. And in time, this can lead to a great debate, even a profanity. That is why it is always best to stay in the Steam Family's mission and vision.

Heck no, as mentioned it will just create FAR more spam with "Hey take a look at my profile" and other crap trying to trick people into trying to go to peoples profiles.

And scammers will use it to try to trick people "See I have lots of people coming to my profile, I'm trust worthy!!!" yes people fall for dumb stuff like that.

I thought pageview counters were largely considered obsolete due to being highly unreliable two decades ago already.

The only place It'd make some sense in having a view counter would be on UGC.

I think its more just for the kind of people who want to find apps that can track who looks at their facebook profiles, a self obsessed vanity kind of thing

No thanks. There is no need to know who or how many people visit a profile and the added spam would not be appreciated.

If viewing would influence the profile owner, it may deny curiosity, and vice versa. I'm not sure if that's a good thing. If you put content on it, you may want others to look at it.

If it's optional, I can agree with it. I think. More options are always good. Even though I'm not sure what purpose it could have, because you would still not know the reason why they view it.

I'm trying to figure out who benefits from it and why. But then again, I don't even understand why someone would make it's profile public. Or how you would even be able to play a game in peace, if you do that.
