Auto-Disconnect from Every TF2 Server
So, I suddenly started having trouble with TF2. The problem came close on the heels of me getting a new ISP, but I played for some time on my new connection, which seems to be far superior to connections I've used in the past without much trouble. So I don't THINK it's my connection. (Ping is 10 at worst, problem happens even if only 1).

Problem: I periodically lose the ability to connect to servers. Sometimes it happens before I can connect to a server. Sometimes I play on on server for 10 minutes and get Auto-Disconnected. Either way, I have to restart the game in order to connect to a new server. I've looked at about a million help topics of people having similar, but not always exactly the same, problem. None helped, and none seemed to have been resolved for the other people, either.

Here's everything that I can remember trying that didn't work:
Verify Game Files
Turn Off Steam Cloud, Then Delete Local Content and Reinstall Game
Change Firewall Settings
Turn Off Firewall and other Security Measures
Scan for Viruses
Hard Drive Cleanup
Turn Off Steam Community In-Game
Reset/Power Cycle Modem (no router... plugged directly into modem)
Contacted ISP to see if connection was Intermittent
Ran Diagnostics on Internet Connection
Try Master Server Files on Steam Help Page
Check VAC Status

I have NOT been able to try a completely different Internet connection. That is literally the only thing I can think of that might work. Any ideas? Proceed to mention all the fixes that I forgot to mention in the list above, please.

ACTUAL SOLUTION: My refrigerator was interfering with my modem, so I moved my modem further away. I TOLD you guys it was NOT my firewall, and I do NOT have a router. Please read posts before offering suggestions, okay? Otherwise you're not any better than the Indian Customer Service people who just post hyperlinks to the FAQ page. lulz

I had this problem too and what I did was I had this hotspot shield firewall and I set it to unprotect this network and so far that works fine. I don't know what the problem is really. Maybe it makes a difference that my Internet is Verizon and I acomplished all this without plugging my computer into my router. Hope it gets better.

Sounds like router issues. Try disabling your firewall to see if it is not working correctly.

You also told us it was not your connection. Sorry I tried to help. Will not make the same mistake twice. Would have never guessed fridge. Bill Cosby was closest with his comment "drink milk", which is stored in the fridge. Somehow what I thought was a troll post was a clue to the solution.
