How do I delete an invisible game from my library?
I played the evolve beta, now that it's finished the game has vanished from my library - so how do I delete it from my computer?

I know I could probably find it in my steam apps folder but I'm just wondering if theres an easier way of deleting it from within steam...

Rightclick on game and choose delete local content.

If it's not in the library, what is there to click? :bear:

Try uninstalling it from your computer's control panel.

Two easiest ways:
(1) As above, go to your Control Panel, choose "Add or Remove Programs" and select it from there, or
(2) Go to steamapps and delete the folder.

Even if you COULD see the game in your library list, deleting from there would be precisely the same effect.

thanks guy, I uninstalled from control panel. I don't see why steam makes these games invisible - it only limited our ease of deleting and saving space.

It doesn't make them invisible. The responsible people who own the IP are the ones who control it.

As it was a limited beta, it's pretty straightforward in any case - you KNOW this is going to happen (and I know for a fact those codes were given out with that clear standpoint, as a close friend of mine is senior producer).

obviously I didnt expect to still have access to it, only that it remained visible (just locked) so I could view / delete game... not play.

...and cue the dozens of posts asking for the 'useless item that we can't even play anymore to be removed' or the emails to support for the same thing.

It might have been nice to have it there temporarily and renamed to something like 'No longer available: please uninstall' or similar with a note that it would be deleted soon, but Control Panel can sort it out in this case.

I don't see your point.
You know it was a limited-time beta, so being locked is a moot point.
How would Steam manage this when it isn't their IP? Furthemore, it's not part of the system to allow removal of licences, otherwise that'd be a VERY dangerous thing to have. Imagine what a malicious scammer could do with access to your account.

Unless you got the key from a shady source, you would have KNOWN this was limited-time before you installed.

As I said before, I know rather implicitly the circumstances surrounding the Evolve beta.

he just wanted to delete the files for the game, probably to free up some space. which you currently can only do over filebrowser when the game is not listed in your library anymore. he just asked for an easier way over steam.

no need to pluster it up to something else.

I'm not. I'm merely answering his direct questions and statements. Nothing more.
