No Sound in Certain Games.
Hello, so here is my problem.
Long ago in December of 2014, I made a post regarding myself having no sound in the game APB Reloaded. Yes, people told me to check my volume mixer and people have told me to reinstall the game, they also told me to do stuff with my audio devices (change the settings of them) . However, those options didn't work. So I pretty much ditched that game and now, I've started to branch off into more games. But now however, I'm starting to have no sound in more games, heres a list of 6 games I tested.

Sound: Warframe
Warface

No Sound: Unturned
CSGO
APB Reloaded
TF2

I need help pls
(I'm also going to send in a ticket to steam so yep)

Are you sure your audio driver instal is solid and up to date ? Do you have a audio card or just on board audio for your PC ?

Yep, my audio drivers are solid and up to date and I have just an audio board if thats what you're talking about.

Does the audio cut in and out randomly or is there no sound at all sometimes in some games and perfectly fine audio in other games ?

Check this list please just to get that out of the way. Pay special attention to antivirus programs please.

PLEASE read over the whole list. It is quite long.

What is your antivirus program ? I assume you read over the entire list of programs then ? Also, there is important information to read on the rest of that page under the list you should look over.

I'm having the same problem on these games: Geometry Dash, Half-Life 2 Deathmatch (Probably Half-Life 2 in General), Garry's Mod, Golf with Your Friends, and possibly more. The thing is, I know it works on other steam games because I play terraria and I have sounds but on these games (that I know of) the sound doesn't work.

Yes, I have added one of my games as a test to the exceptions thing, I only have skype and avg and they have never interfered before. I still tested it and it did nothing. It seems it might have happened when I a) installed discord b) tried to update iTunes. All the necessary driver updates are installed, and the sound still doesn't work. Any help?

Just because you may have never had any issues with any program before, that does not mean a new confilct cannot come up later.

I can tell you for a fact that those two, Skype and AVG have been seen to conflict. I cannot say they are the cause of your issues there now, but in order to totally rule them out as not, you should uninstall them temporarily and restart your computer afterwards. We have seen even newer issues lately with AVG and that one has always been on the list in bold, and with a green symbol.

What driver updates have you done, also ? Hopefully you mean the officail ones from the manufacturer's website only and NOT by using Windows update. I suggest that you never use Windows to update your drivers unless you have no other choice.

Tried uninstallling both AVG and Skype, tested the game out after restarting, still nothing. I do have the official drivers, none of them are from windows update. Any other suggestions?

Go to the audio enhancements setting for your device and disable audio enhancements in Windows 10 and see if that help.

Also, just in case, I would suggest that you post screenshots of all of your installed programs in case you have one or two not covered so far. You can use imgu.com and upload them for free if you wish, and then post the screenshots here. Be sure we can see them all if you do, so post multiple shots if you have to, please. Thanks.

Also, Do you have GeForce Experience installed ? Is there a beta share option still included in that software ? I think that was an older 'trick' that seemed to work with audio issues in Windows 10 and Steam games and probably does not apply anymore but check it out just in case. Hope that helps.

Is this an MSI motherboard by chance ? If it is, do you have the Killer Network Access Manager software installed ?

I fixed the problem for Geometry Dash at least. I had to switch the game's drives because of a disk write error. Thanks for the help though!
