TES V: Skyrim Legendary Edition

I just picked up TES V: Skyrim LE and i was wondering, will i have to delete my previus version or can i leave it and just reinstall the new one over it?

If it works as "usual", Steam will verify the files, and after that only install the changed files and missing DLC. You have to try it out: The worst thing, that can happen, that it will be installed in a separate directory.

The Legendary Edition is just a bundle of the base game and the DLC. Since you already have a license to the base game, it will remain untouched. You are now able to install the DLC, that's all.

After i installed the new version i got an error message that reads:
Error
Failed to get Details for a subscribed File! Steam Error 15, What does that Mean?

Also one thing i just thought of, how do i play Dawnguard, Hearthfire, Dragonborn, do i just do a quest to start them or do they start seperately?
Just so everyone knows, the version i now have is from Walmart, incase someone asks.

to start with, I'm not sure about how installing the steam version over a non steam version will effect your save files. But I can say that I'm in the same situation of having skyrim, and upgrading to the legendary edition. When I installed the DLC, I opened my save and it treated it like I always had the DLC.

I.E. the opening mission to dawnguard I picked up from a guard mentioning the reformation of the dawnguard. I purchased a plot of land to take advantage of hearthfire, etc.
