Can my laptop run Fallout 4
My laptop has run games like Skyrim, Fallot 3, and Fallout NV easily with and without many mods. So Iam wondering if my laptop can run Fallout 4, even on the lowest graphics settings?
Specs: Windows 10, i5- 2430 2.4 GHz, 64 bit operating system. Thanks in advance!

CPU minimum is 2.8 for intel. What is your GPU ?

System Requirements

Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB or equivalent

Depends. The game is not out yet so any advice that anyone could give you right now is pure speculation, with only the minimum and recommended spec list to go by without actual performance numbers to compare to.

If we knew your GPU as well, we could make an educated guess but just remember that the game is not out yet and it is still merely speculation.

The only thing I can find about my Graphics card is the generic graphics that I always have had, Intel HD Graphics 3000. I don't know much about computors, but does this help?
The short answer is no, I'm sorry. Not without a dedicated video card anyways.

No way. You cannot play this game on that GPU. integrated graphics are not going to handle high-end games like Fallout 4, sorry.

Always read the minimum requirements on the store pages in Steam. You need to really learn about hardware in computers if you are going to game on a PC, so you know what you can and cannot maybe play and/or play well.

Reading minimum requirements is pretty much a must always, unless you have a really high-end systeam and you understand about hardware.

If you have to ask "can I run this game", then you need to check the requirements always.

Hope that helps you out.

That is exactly correct and a good attitude on your part here about asking first. We will always try to help in the community here so best wishes to you.

Anytime! If you are ever in the market for a PC, don't hesitate to ask in these forums. There are a bunch of us that would be glad to point you in the right direction.

I also have an Intel HD Graphics 3000 on my laptop. Is there any way to upgrade it? And if not, how can I get a refund for the game? Cuz I already dropped $60 hoping my machine could handle the game, and now I'm pretty bummed out to find that I might have to upgrade my machine to play the game (which I cannot afford atm, unfortunately).

If your computer has an open PCI-E slot, you can add a dedicated GPU. You can request a refund here:

How do I find out if my laptop has an open PCI-E slot? And I'd really prefer to avoid a refund since I really want to play the game, but if I can add a dedicated GPU then hell, that's better than dropping $800+ on a gaming laptop.

I'm sorry, but with rare exceptions laptops cannot be upgraded, and even when they can it's much more difficult than with a PC. I don't believe you will be able to upgrade.
