Slow Downloading

So my internet is ♥♥♥♥, but it's not this bad. I have abou 15 - 30 mbit/s but whenever i try now to download something i get like 300kbit/s. Solutions?

Getting problems too, I have a 150mb connection and I'm currently only getting a few kb's.

steam also displays the download speed in byte, not bit.

you have a contract with a provider where it is mentioned, what you should get. speedtests are only relevant to confirm this value and if your local network and pcs are not a virus and layer8-idiocity infested pile of garbage, you should get the contractual numbers.

that said, change download regions in steam settings to something were people should be sleeping right now. that is always a great way to circumvent local bottlenecks in peaktimes in your region.

Well 150Mb/s Down, tried to use 10 different servers around the world and local Uk - London is the worst of them all, i can get faster DL from New York :/

Origin 2.2MB/s, Steam 1MB/s (maybe, now is downloading at 200KB/s) when usually I download at 2.0-2.1MB/s... What's the problem?

I am getting 300Kb per second downloading (KiloBYTES) and Normally I get 13Mb per second.(MegaBYTES) This is only happening on steam. (I am measuring in bytes and not bits here)

Origin, Uplay and Browser downloads are at full speed so it's NOT my connection but Steam that is the issue.

Speedtest concurs that my connection is at full speed.

Not good enough Valve! Lift your ****ing game!

EDIT: Australia is being hit hard, by changing download location to "US - Los Angeles" I am getting near my average (10 MegaBYTES per second) way better than 180-300 KiloBYTES per seccon on ANY Australian download location.

So Aussies CHANGE YOUR DOWNLOAD LOCATION!!!!

Normaly I download with 690 kB/s (0,6 - 0,7 MB/s). But in the last 3 days it only goes up to 400 kB/s. It is annoying. If I download something with my Explorer it has the normal speed. I even changed my download location and did all the other stuff:

Just to make clear:
If you have a 2MB (Mega Bit) provider, and Steam it's downloading at 200Kb (Kilo Bytes) it's perfectly right, are only two different unity of measure.

You know, 1000 Mt and 1 Km.

I am having the same problem, I'm downloading on league and battlenet at 2.9mbs, but when trying to download games on steam I'm not even getting 152kbs and my line is a 10mb line.

I had to reconfigure my router... the new firmware i upgraded to was trash
