I personally suggest to NOT use it in VAC-protected games but uh, your choice ofcourse.
Many people use SAM to unlock thousands and thousands of achievements.
The only thing is, they 'think' it looks cool on their profile while most people just know they cheated it.

Can you get VAC banned for steam achievement manager?

Obviously, you can't get a VAC ban for using this program, because you would have to be on a VAC secured server while running the programm to get a ban. But in fact, you can use the programm while the game is not running.
