Trading for GTA V Gift, Safe???

Some I recently got scammed for gta v and I'm trying to get it back.
So if I try 1:1 for a steam gift can it be refunded?

Refunded? No.

The seller can do a chargeback as that is independent of Steam. Steam would then revoke the gift as it was not paid for.

I suggest just buying the game on your own if you want to ensure it will not get revoked. Trading for a gift is always a risk with a stranger.

Yes, it can. And the item will be lost as support does not restore them.

You can sell the item on the market and that will help pay for you to buy a copy yourself.

Again, yes. Even if the game is activeted, if the seller does a chargeback, it can get revoked.

Anytime the seller does a chargeback, even if you traded the game to someone else, it can get revoked.

GTAV or other new/high dollar games for CSGO skins is a super common scam. These generous scammers will even "go first" and send the gift directly to your Steam account, outside of the trade window because they can just chargeback or their stolen credit card will be flagged and the purchases will be revoked.
