steam settings -> music -> uncheck scan steam folders for sountracks. and reset the db.
So that completely uninstalls it?
It will remove the soundtracks from the library after re-scanning, but it will not remove the files from your pc.

no, that will just not make them appear in steam music. you cannot uninstall soundtracks, they come with the games.

You can uninstall the soundtracks in Control Panel, search them as if they were an app.
Go in library/ collections then on the bar where it days games, click on it, you will see games tools soundtrack games. Go on soundtrack.Click so there it is tick, then right click on mouse, manage/uninstall.

Thats because this thread is from YEARS ago and the service doesn't work in the same way. It's now used only for internal songs bought from Steam.

Someone will be along in a minute to say this thread was very old and they'll close it to reduce confusion, which in THIS case is probably actually justified!

Old discussion information changed.
A) If the sounds track is included in base game, there nothing can do about it, but delete the files, or leave it.

B) If the sound track is a DLC, you literally go to your library, select the game, manage DLC, and untick the box for the soundtrack.

C) If soundtrack is standalone download, you just uninstall it like you would uninstall your games.
I know this post is pretty late to the party, but I figured out a solution when trying to uninstall 'The Invincible' Soundtrack. Turns out when you uninstall the base game Steam also uninstalls the soundtrack, but neglects to inform your computer. So the computer 'thinks' the soundtrack is installed but it isn't. I solved this by going onto Steam, going into the Soundtracks section and installing the Soundtrack Only on Steam again. Then I went to add remove programs to uninstall it and followed the prompts thought the computer and Steam. It's now gone from my Add/Remove Programs list.
right click
This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
