You can use a Debit Card to add funds to Steam, if you can't you go buy a Steam gift card at store in your local area that sells them and add the funds later.

????

debit is same as credit
just choose whether its visa or mastercard

for example my debit card is a mastercard it is debit only not credit

whether the card is credit or debit it still connects to visa, mastercard, etc

You do understand that the only difference between a debit and credit card is which account it draws money from, right? A debit draws from your own account and cannot spend money you don't have, a credit draws from an account owned by a third party, who charges you interest on top of the amount spent you have to pay back, and usually various other terms and conditions.

Literally, if you can use a credit card, you should also be able to use a debit card, unless your bank or credit union or steam itself for some bizarre reason is blocking purchases. My advice if you're having problems, check with your bank or credit union first. Nine times out of ten, it's an overzealous "security" program blocking purchases from websites you don't use often that has to be manually flagged for approval.

I have ALWAYS used debit cards online. Every game on here is bought with a debit card, so it might simply be YOUR card is not recognised.

What country are you from and what debit card (bank) are you trying to use?

Yep, same here. Been using a debit card for my Steam purchases for over 13 years. No issues.

As you mentioned, maybe OP should tell us the exact message they are seeing or what they are reading so we can be sure what the issue is.

OP needs to contact his bank to allow his Debit Card to be allowed to do ONLINE PURCHASE.

i myself got a debit card and i need to contact my bank to allowed my debit card to make online purchases.
When i try it says "your purchase has not been completed.your credit card information has been declined by your credit card company"

Then follow what that says.

And don't hijack old posts please.

If your credit card has been declined then you MUST contact the credit card company - the problem is on their end and Valve CANNOT tell you anything.

It would have taken you 3 seconds to google it. Mastercard.

Likely you don't even have to google it because the logo is most likely already on your card.
