Steam Trading Policies are dumb.
Hello,
I'm currently pretty angry, so bear with me. About a month ago I came back to TF2 and I wanted to go back to trading. I've been told that I have to make a steam guard token on my phone to even start trading. And I had to wait for freaking 15 days while doing nothing. Alright, I can wait it, no problem. But today after I noticed that I could trade I went to a trading site (idk if I can paste it) and spent some time in setting up trades. Just to be told that for it I have to delete my guard token. I did it and now I have to wait 15 more freaking days. It's just silly to prevent someone from trading without any clear information. I'm disappointed to wait 30 days just to trade a couple of items. Is there any way to fast it up? Or just completely delete that stupid steam guard token? I also don't see a way to open up a ticket in this new site.

Why are you listening to what a 3rd part site told you to do? They have no affiliation with Valve at all.

Enable it and leave it alone.

You should never have to delete your Steam Guard token. Sounds like a shady site that may be trying to scam.

that trade site is trying to scam you, making you drop your security so they can more easily phish your details..


if you want to trade, do it within Steam.. by using such 3rd party sites, you are litterally asking for trouble

I know what I'm doing. Also trading inside TF2 on trade servers is just wrong, you can't ever make any profit.

Support can not remove or reduce any restriction once you trigger one. All noted in the link I provided.

they may be dumb, but users are generally dumber, that is why those restrictions are in place.

first of all, that 3rd party trading website does not belong to Steam, if you follow instructions blindly and/or without even properly reading them ... then this is not any issue of Steam or Steam has to support you in any way.

you say "Steam guard token" multiple times in your post and it only makes sense for one thing, the trade offer url is sometimes referred to as trade "token". because the trade url literally has a parameter named token.

but steam guard and every security settings that is included with it , f.e. the mobile authenticator ... is never referred to as "token".

you probably got told by the 3rd party trading website to get a new trade url or to provide the current valid one or something ... and you removed Steam guard.

it doesn't seem you do, or you wouldn't have disabled the very feature designed to make sure your trades are secure just because a third party site "told you to".. its akin to if a person told you "sure I'll buy your new stereo, but can you remove the locks from your back door please"?

you are acting in the very manner these sites use to scam people.. get the target so caught up in potential profit that they ignore what the site is telling them doesn't hold up to thought out analysis..


and trading was not meant to turn a personal profit for in the first place

You go through the menus to get to a ticket, if your issue is not resolved through the FAQ.

If you are asking for them to remove the cooldown, that isn't going to happen. You will have to wait it out.
