After the new update i get a BSOD error every time i launch steam.

Steam worked just fine this morning until i updated it and started getting a BSOD error about a file called "atikmdag.sys". I initially thought it was because of GPU acceleration as other discussions suggested, but i'm running other apps that use GPU acceleration without any problems.

Absolutely all others software works well. Games, others game markets, browsers and etc. So it's the problem of new steam update!

you mixup 2 diffrent things with same outcome BSOD and they might cause the same but its not same Driver issue, even you should have caught that. but its okay.

dxgkrnl.sys is DirectX, but use custom install at nvidia driver and make cleam install then checkbox is there. and recheck DirectX at MS page alos.
is that dont fix it ( you could have outdate OS or other issue much cant help with anymore win10 is the only support OS at PC left , i cant say then AMD or Nvidia will stop support outdate OS, and im sorry nothing steam or i can do about it. progress is a issue today.

feel free to contact Nvidia support. maybe they can check other thing we other cant see or know about.

NO , its clear to all you have not Read all other issue other user provide with, win7 or win8 might not get support anymore , and thats why it fail to work with steam maybe
even other user post add vulkan to antivirus exception rule, again cant test that dont have win7 8,1 and you are stiall back at Graphic card Driver issue.
and i also be said turn off pre-shadowcache , but thats a problem how will you start steam up to change settings then you get BSOD.

and to my knowledge not 1 win10 user was effect by this, most was 8,1
but again with 1 billion steam user, you will have seen over 1 million complains if many got that problem.

contact Nvidia support dont wait for steam to fix it. ( steam cant fix it ) they can change client to turn option off , but i bet that will not happend. ( people are complain over game lag issue so vulkan driver and other tune optimizing things are here to stay. )

I am only following this topic half way, but I think he just saying you may be better in your own topic on your issue if the issue here is about windows 8.1 and they fixed it, then you may be better on your own tread that is not the same
It will help to find fixes for your issues without confusing someone from the 8.1 issues, and also help to find more users that have it to find what is shared between all of them that will create the issue

The issue is the same. If the problem was fixed by giving admin access to vulcan exes that's just temporal solution. The problem should not exist in release build at all. Without any manual fixing.
Or Steam should AT LEAST post somewhere, where every user may found, the instructions how to fix the problem.

Everyone should understand, anything that is bound to a program during installation (these exes are installs / unpacks by steam and are located in its directory) is a part of the program. So if there's any problem with a part of steam client - it's also the problem of steam client itself.

To be clear, I am here to mark the problem is actual and should be fixed by steam client developers in future updates. (cause there's no direct communication / feedback way to developers and steam support sent me to the forum)

That doesn't demonstrate it's a Valve failute at all, not in the slightest.

As of 4 hours ago My FSX was Perfect, now its not. This is NOT right, especially when thousands of dollars are invested, hence TAC-PAC, Aircraft, and a Wide variety of very Expensive Flight Sim Control Systems coupled to Your Flight Sim ! Just in case you did not know, this is a user forum, and regular users are who you see posting here. Valve probably won't even see this.

I've tried to contact steam support and they just sent me here, to the forum.
So there's no others ways to inform the steam client developers team except of talking about it, especially on the official forum (HERE).
They definitely will notice it sometime. Moreover, there're many appeals to the support already (which probably are redirected here too), so they will notice it sometime (or maybe already).
