its a ton of games, like 16-17 games i think. but we also tried only 1 game alone which was h1z1, in us 9.99USD, in Israel aswell 9.99USD exact same prices for all games. Isarel steam store also uses us dollars.
no, this doesnt have anything to do with this :P my post that was removed was about the exact same gifting thing just it was basically a rant, with a bunch of swear words etc, which i still dont think deserved to be removed.
US Steam store = 9.99 USD converted to Shekels is 35.02
The price difference is way above the 10% difference limit.
OP, sure the friend is in israel?
yes he is, and hes using israel (usd) steam store, he even showed me on skype. But i think 999999 is right because it worked perfectly on an account from philippines region which is a whole bunch cheaper than us. If it was you and i thought that 10$ is 10$ across stores, then US should have worked.
sorry if im confusing
"Israel Steam store = 9.99 USD converted to Shekels is 2.85"
that alone makes no sense. that is just the inability to convert currencies.
the only way to get the number "2.85" is a 9.99 shekel to usd conversion and that is illogical. israel pays in usd, not in shekel.
what is your current steam store country and were are you really?
I don't mind about the money, what I do mind is when my little brothers birthday comes around and I want to buy a game for us to play I can't. I also live in Israel and my little brother is back home in Australia.
I mean if it's such a big difference at least give me the option to pay the difference!
Just buy your little brother a Steam Wallet card. Those can be used worldwide. The amount of money on the card gets automatically converted into the currency of the country its used in.
So for example if you use an US bought 20 dollar Steam Wallet Card in Russia it will convert it to roughly 1400 ruble.
That way your brother can just buy the games himself to play with you.
Its not as nice as sending the game itself as a gift but it gets the job done.
You can buy one in your region and just give him the code on it. They can be used worldwide.

For whatever reason, the publisher/developer set up sales restrictions this way. Probably for better price controls.
The most Stupidest thing.
I have ever read, and I'd read a few articles from Kotaku, that were nearly as stupid as this.
They need to fix this, cause this is just really pathetic, and I have friends I wanna play this game with, but they can't cause of this BS restriction.
You misunderstand then. It ain't a Valve problem so THEY CANNOT fix this.
It's down to the rights owners - the publishers (and devs possibly). Only they can do stuff with things they own, not Valve. Their hands are tied.
And though it might be stupid, do note this has existed for decades.
