Recycled phone number.
Just got a call on my new phone number without actually giving out that phone number to anybody. After a call to my operator I apparently got a recycled phone number. Is there any way to find out if that phone number is attached to a steam account? Is there a way to remove that phone number from old steam accounts that are not in my possession? I am afraid of adding that phone number to my steam account because old steam user could maybe get me banned?

Yes.
You can revocer an account by phone number. Go to the recovery page and input it, it will tell you which account is linked to the number or whether they can't find any.

I think asking support may be the only way, even that sounds some what like a real problem, seening that someone that cheat may try to use that to avoid been ban or something

No, but that's an easy way to find out.

You won't get any info about what account the number is attached to, you will get an option to get a recoverycode send to the phonenumber.

If the number is not attached to any accounts, you will get a "could not find any accounts on that number"
So you are right, it's an easy way to see if it is attached to steam.

Would you still need the username?

I'm pretty sure, you will need username, with that, if not, Valve should take a look at it.

Keep in mind, all phone number are recycled. There is no such thing as a new phone number unless a new area code was created.

Don't have an access to a PC right now to check, but will. Still, don't you think that is a security flaw in adding a number to a steam account so freely?

Shortly after getting my number, years ago, I got a voice mail that my motorcycle was ready to be picked up. I wished it was true. :steamhappy:
