game won't download, missing executable? (read desc)
When I pull up the downloading screen,it's missing the estimated time it'll take to download the game and it's missing the bytes needed and the bytes you have. I've tried swapping the download file I was using, nothing. And then when I download it, it downloads in around 1 sec, and then I click 'Play' and it tells me it can't be played because it's missing executable. I've tried clearing download cache, and nothing. Any suggestions?

the game is 'House Party' I bought it earlier today cause I was close to 50 games and wanted to reach 50 games. I wanted to download it cause it seems like a quirky game, like jazzpunk.

I have no idea what my windows os is
How can you not know what your OS is ? You have to know that before you buy games to know if your OS will actually play them.

Go to "help" in the top of the client and then "system information". Copy and paste all that here, please.

EDIT...It seems that your OS is not the probem, as far as I can tell. My apologies if so.

MINIMUM:
OS: Windows XP SP2+
Processor: SSE2 instruction set support.
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: DX9 (shader model 3.0) or DX11 with feature level 9.3 capabilities.
DirectX: Version 9.0
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 3 GB available space

The next possibility is your antivirus or other software maybe quarantining the .exe file.

What is your antivirus program ?

32 bit operating system, and the OS build is 10586.1007. It's the edition Windows 10-Home and is a Lenovo computer
See my edit above, please.

Post your antivirus.
Windows Firewall
I saw it, I had to go search up the thing, and I had posted the other comment without realizing you had edited the previous one
Hmmm...are you sure you don't have other security software also ?

Do this...however if there is problematic software causing this, then this is only a temporary fix if it works at all.

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335

EDIT..Do you have Steam and games set at exceptions (exclusions) in Windows Firewall ?

I don't believe I have any others, although, if I had to have any other backups, those would be Windows Defender
Do the verification, please. Then playtest the game from your Steam library only.

Next do this.........

Take screenshots of all of the programs you have installed on your computer. Control panel then programs/programs and features. (Windows 7,8,8.1) or "apps" (Windows 10 click "Start" (Windows icon on bottom left))

Click Windows Start and type in msconfig and run that resulting process. Go to the services tab and check the box on bottom "Hide all Microsoft services". Take screenshots of all that is left.

Then go to the startup tab on top of that same window(Task Manager in W10). Take screenshots of all that there also.

Post all the links to the above screenshots here, using a file hosting site such as imgur.com
dunno why someone still tries to fix your non-issue.

the system requirements do not make any sense, like the game itself.
4gb ram is not possible on a 32bit system so it probably requires a 64bit windows.

anyway... do nothing, refund the game and spend your money on a game that actually has valuable gameplay in it. if you wanna "experience" the game anyway. watch 10 youtube videos of it, that should be enought to see everything that is possible in this game, which is not much.

you basicly blew $15 out of the window for a very crappy game. if your whole intention was to reach 50 games, you failed that completly, there are enough 50cent games on Steam that could've get you 30 games easily that are more worth playing then this youtuber bait game.
Well I ran into a problem, I verified the game in propeties, everything came out positive, yet trying to play the game gave me the same error

But it does not say that in the requirements. I checked that.

EDIT..Don't get me wrong, as you are right about the RAM requirements. They don't make sense.

It's the only game I can really afford that actually looked fun to me. I don't like watching youtubers play the game because most youtubers aren't fun and don't interest me
yeah my ram sucks
