The search does works, but it only shows if it's in the week long deal list, if it's not in it, it won't show in it when you search in it. So you have to use the normal search to the top right to normal search, and search for your game that way to appear.

But what is happening for me is that I click on the week long deals link to see the 1289 games and the results page says zero results found.
Are you in the UK? As the region may have an affect, although it could be my account.
By the way I checked on Steams Search update page and I can click the Special offers link and see games but the Week long deals tile to the right still returned zero results, Weird.
I believe it to be down to congestion, as it solved itself within a few minutes. As the whole world and especially Britain is at home at the moment, Steam is being hit HARD. So this is going to happen from time to time.
All I can tell you is what I use to avoid such things.
Try buying and looking to buy at times when less people are on. I do all my stuff at 2am or thereabouts. You can equally try very first thing as soon as you get up.
As far as I'm aware, if you're going to be hooking into some main city server, like Manchester or London, you can pretty much guarantee issues. I'm lucky in this regard as mine tends to flit around a bit. I don't know whether it's down to me being in the middle of nowhere, or whether it's just having a good ISP.
But in any case, that's what I would do in your shoes and see how you get on.
use that instead. that shows everything on discount.
"weeklongdeals" was broken 17 times since i started to log that in end of 2018.
broken = shows unnormal low amount of products or 0.
Oh, so it's generally broken anyway, then?
Bugger, that's even worse then. Thanks for the heads up.
Just a quick question - how does the usual old trick of viewing the store through a separate web broswer fare? The same?
