Why does everyone use ps4 controller over the xbox controller

why the hell does everyone use the lame ps4 controller over the xbox controller im not trolling im just saying is it because of the gimick it has or do u guys just hate xbox controllers cause in my opinion they feel much better than the ps4 controller does and the button and controller layout is much better. You also dont need to map out the buttons for games and most of the games here dont even support ps4 controllers by defult but i still prefer xbox because i dont have to do custom button layout

well on some games i see people are asking that they want to have ps4 controller support i dont see the benefit on using it but it might be the recargable battery on it or something but i still dont get why some people ask for it

Idk but the Xbox controller is a lot easier to set up. Maybe they want a ps4 controller because it looks better, or bacause of the touchpad although it doesnt work on pc games, who knows!

I assume as most games all ready support Xbox controllers, so no point to ask what is already supported?

Some people just have a PS4 controller around, some grow on the PS controller

Well I still use my PS2 controller for some PC games. I just grew up with a PS so I never got used to an Xbox controller.

Well I still use my PS2 controller for some PC games. I just grew up with a PS so I never got used to an Xbox controller.

Same, although I've moved onto the Steam Controller these days I sometimes have to revisit the feel of a good ol dualshock.

xbox controllers are natively supported on windows, ps4 not.

i think that ur right on some parts i was playing playstation for years up until the ps4 console came out never played pc until 2015 then got me a custom rig i bought parts for and i use it as a backup if ether company goes full digital but i used xbox in 2014 and ive been playing on my xbox one since 2015. I dont like playing too many games on pc due to the stupid denuvo drm problem and its hard to buy pc versions of games i want so i get every game i want on my xbox one which is why im still a console gamer

Necroing. I use a PlayStation controller over the Xbox controller for several reasons.
1) Old habits die hard. My parents owned a PlayStation since the PS1, the PS2 was my first console.
2) Muscle memory. Mine is wired exclusively for the DualShock/DualSense. I don't even play my Switch with the normal joycons... I need Joycons that have the PS Vita layout.
3) Symmetry. It looks better than the Xbox controller as a result.
4) the way the bumpers/triggers are made. I feel absolutely DISGUSTING doing the claw on the Xbox controller, and that comes from the way bumpers/triggers feel. If they were flush with one another, it probably wouldn't be an issue.
5) Innovation/ risk. The DualShock introduced that TouchPad, which Xbox players are SLEEPING on.
6) Xbox has NEVER released a handheld... Sony has. And the last "definitive" handheld they made could be used as another controller on PS4.
