Clean installed windows 10 - Steam detects the games- But Windows doesn't detect the ganes as installed
Hey I clean installed my windows with format on drive C.
Drive D was not formatted.
I installed Steam on C. Then Went to settings and Downloads and added a new library. Selected the old Steam Libraray on Drive D.
It immediately detected all my games as installed in Steam - and synced them up.

However Windows 10 does not detect any of them as installed.
And to me - it's not good.
How do I convince Windows 10 that these games are installed properlly?

you mean that the games appear in add/remove programs on windows?

for what do you need that. you need steam anyway, that entry there just calls a steam function, which is rightclick -> uninstall on Steam.

Yes the games don't appear in add/remove.
Well -I prefer to have all games appear in Windows 10 Add/Remove (through control panel) so I have the full list of apps and games installed. And that I can uninstall them from there.

I just want windows to detect them as installed.
Must I uninstall and re-download them all ?

Open up Regedit, navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
and then manually add it. You'll have to ask someone who has it installed for what all the values/keys should be. Alternatively, you could ask someone to create a .Reg file of the missing keys and merge that.

Just verify the cache for each game and they'll appeared as installed once you run the initial setup again.

Didn't work.
Steam detects the game. That's not the issue. But Windows Add/remove doesn't.

(I verified and launched the game)

I'm with you on this. When you reinstall windows and configure the downloads folder, Steam does recognize your games and everything works. However, they don't appear in Add/Remove programs under the control panel.

Not so much a big deal but when you go to buy a new game for your collection those games will appear in the control panel. This makes it somewhat of an issue for some. Since some of your games appear as installed programs and some don't

Any fix to this yet or just something that is what it is?
That's just how it is since you didn't really "install" them. Not that it makes much of a difference to Windows since all it does is tell Steam to uninstall them.

Yep, you should use Steam to uninstall games anyway, as well as install them too, of course, so the control panel in Windows is really irrelevant to Steam games.

EDIT...Well, I mean of course the add/remove programs feature of control panel here.
