Cant buy in market or trade...
First want to start by saying, I have had this account for over 5-10 years.. I recently got back into pc games so I resetted password and came back on steam, that was about 9 days ago. I been playing CSGO and will like to buy some keys but it wont let me. This is what it showed me in help menu
"Community Market
We've confirmed that your account, latino***, is currently unable to use the Steam Community Market.
You are unable to trade because your account recently had its password reset.
The account must have a successful purchase older than 30 days, but not older than a year.
This restriction will expire in 29 days, 23 hours and 59 minutes."

"Trading
We've confirmed that your account, latino****, is currently unable to participate in trading.
You are unable to trade because your account recently had its password reset after multiple months of inactivity.
This restriction will expire in 18 days, 2 hours and 47 minutes.
Steam Support is unable to make any exceptions to the password reset waiting period. This requirement helps protect your account from unauthorized trade usage in the event it is hijacked."

Every time I refresh though it resets the timer again... In the help menu it said 7 days after resetting password but I still cant. What am I missing? how is that even relevant to my issue though since I have bought a few games before, does it mean I have to buy a game every year in order to use the services? This truly makes me feel cheated. I hope that is not the case. All I want is them cool skins everyone has in csgo, I don't have any lol. Please help.

I notice you are not online on steam currently, what does it say if you try this in the client?

The steam website can't thinks you are on a new device on each browser and steam client. Maybe something is deleting your cookies and logging you out which might keep you out of the market.

EDIT: i missed some stuff but still stay logged in in one client for maximum market access.

Sorry but you just apparently posted your real account login in the OP above. I suggest you edit that out, as that does the security of your account no good to post in a public forum for all to see.

"The account must have a successful purchase older than 30 days, but not older than a year."
that is why the timer resets to 30 days.

purchase something on Steam.

The moving market timer generally means you redeemed a wallet code, but did not actually purchase anything. The code will trigger the above message, but the time will always say 30 days from when you checked. You would need to complete a purchase and wait 30 days.

The password reset restricts both the market and trading for 30 days, owing to the fact that you had not used your account for at least 2 months.

Bud I have bought games before just not recently, I don't feel like I need to do this just to get it unlock, doesn't seem fair to me.

So do I have one restriction or two? Do I need to wait a month and buy something or just the month?

It sounds like your previous purchase is more than a year old, unfortunately.

You have two. One restriction from the password reset, which once it expires will allow you to trade items again. A second restriction due to not purchasing anything in a year, which will require you to purchase something and wait 30 days.

You have two but they don't add up, the longest one is the one who counts.

Market and trade can be separate.
So you can trade in 18 days and use market in 30 if you bought something, looks like you did.

As the good wuddih said, just any purchase will do, as it does not have to be a game. You can spend literally one penny, if possible, in a game to buy an in-game item for example.

A weapon, armor, clothing, etc., for example. Just make a purchase, as it says, and the ammount is irrelevant.

The password reset is a totally seperate restriction.

Recent Password Reset

If you reset your password, you will be restricted from trading and the Community Market for 7 days. If your account has not had any activity for more than two months, these restrictions will apply for 30 days. We do this to help protect users who lose access to their email account. Note that this does not affect password changes, only password resets.

Damn so even if I bought something now I still have to wait 18 days? That is truly unfair...

Well, your profile is private so I cannot suggest any in game items as I don't know what games you have, but the cheapest game on Steam will do, as there are some for literally pennies often, especially on weekends as there are flash sales usually. I would just suggest that you search the store and find a cheap game that you may like.
