How Do Warnings Work Here?
How many warnings before ban?
How many times can you get banned?
How does it work in general?
I can't find on google this information, I am probably typing it wrong.

Thanks!

The truth is that it doesn't matter what you say. Ever. You could say the most innocuous thing ever but if the mod in question (which is almost always someone NOT working for Steam but for the game forum in question) got up from his bed from the wrong side that morning then you could get banned instantly without even the right to an appeal. IF it is a Steam mod then again it doesn't really matter what you say; what is important is how many people reported a specific post for whatever reason given. There is thresholds in place and if you get reported too much, for whatever reason, you're in the wrong. Whatever the setting, the reason. Whatever.

Being warned on the internet for something which would award you with a pat in the back in real life is sadly a rite of passage.

Being Community banned means you can't participate in the discussions hub you were banned/suspended from. Being able to edit your Profile is unaffected.
well, what matters being able to edit your profile when no one can see it?
with a community ban your profile becomes blank for everyone.

you also get one automatically if you are permabanned from multiple hubs.

If what you say is true that is the day I delete my Steam account and tbh even though I've never been in any serious trouble myself and I never will I've never been happy with the standard of moderation here but that's a debate for another day.

I was community banned and I couldn't do anything I listed there. I was banned for one year recently, but managed to appeal it (Thank you generous Steam moderators).
I was also banned for 3 months prior to this maybe 2 or 3 years ago and I couldn't do any of the aforementioned things. Profiles count as community. I had a friend who removed me, and during those 3 months I couldn't accept his friend invite until my ban was lifted.

I'm sorry to hear that. Honestly that is a load of BLEEP. Being banned from the forums is adequate as far as I'm concerned. Your Profile has nothing to do with what happened there.

Well, it sucked, but I was being a troll so honestly I deserved it. I don't understand why someone's friends list, profile and e.t.c are punished due to a community ban, but it is Steam's call. Thank you though.

dont promise things you will not hold.

someone with a community ban will have their profile enforced to be private. it will exactly look like a private profile but without the "This profile is private." text.

i will not link anyone here but you should relatively quickly find someone with a community ban, otherwise here is a guide that covers all bans.

I have plenty of alternative gaming accounts where I can buy my PC games though. Steam used to be my go to Platform as there was nothing else but things have changed since then. I probably wouldn't delete my account but I would likely not buy anything on here. There's a lot of things I don't like about Steam and some of their harsh rules is but a tip of the iceberg but admittedly I do prefer to have my games under the one account. Like the saying goes nothing lasts forever.

Are we able to appeal a warning? If yes, where and how?

In your Community Messages you can respond to the Moderator's warning there. If it's only a minor warning honestly I wouldn't bother as based on my experience they never respond.

That's why, somebody has to monitor them and their behavior. I don't think it was even close to a warning, if anything a verbal perhaps.

Read the warning/ban message. There is a part that tells you to contact Steam Support. The part that is underlined is a link to submit a support ticket.

Do note that support won't really help with bans/warning from developers/publishers or their appointed moderators. The developer/publisher is in charge of their moderators and can run their discussions as they see fit.

I have actually had a ban overturned by Support before for being too severe. I also had a permanent game hub ban overturned because the game in question had been banned by Valve, but I still have an active permaban in another hub because it was never banned even when the product's own news feed was breaking Steam rules by advertising a pirated music service.
