Corrupted desktop icons after windows update
So i had the bad idea to do a windows update, and all my steam games' desktop icons have turned into *.url files, so now none of them are working. I still can boot games from steam without issues, but having to redo all my shortcuts 1 by 1 is kind of a f****ing pain...

Anyone else had that happen?

make sure file extension .url is opened with "Internet Browser" (not any specific webbrowser)
and
make sure a default webbrowser is set in windows default app settings.

that should normally fix the blank icons.

So don't do it one by one:

You can bulk make shortcuts on the desktop by making more than one game in the library then right-clicking mange and add a shortcut

Hope that helps :D:

yeah didn't realize linking url to an internet browser would actually rework the icons. i knew i could run it from there but that is news to me. thank you
