Looking For Magic Crafting Games
I'd like to find games that has spell making/building as one of its components. I've played Magicka 2, but the tone and plot didn't go well with me (I wanted a serious tone like Diablo or Grim Dawn)

(kinda like how you could program your own custom ammo in God Eater)

How about Noita?

Looks like only offensive spells can be made in that game...

Never tried it as I tend to play a stealth archer in these games, but you can create spells in it, after joining the Mage guild.

Not from my experience. Just play the way you want and you level naturally. I tend to do a lot of exploring and side quests, as I enjoy the lore of the games.

But to reach the point of making cool spells...Think it might be too grindy.

Also I wish they remake Oblivion in newer better engine....
Oblivion’s leveling system is a little strange.

I actually find it the opposite. It's too easy to level up most skills to the point that most of the players never see lot of the enemies and items in the game because before they are replaced by higher level ones. I actually design my characters in a way that slows down leveling up and also use mods to increase the skill level up requirements.
Adding support to the user who posted lichdom battle mage. I feel it's an underappreciated gem
Another vote for Lichdom: Battle Mage,

also

it's a bit janky, but also cheap as dirt nowadays.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
