Regional pricing refresh

Hi, I want to rise a topic about regional pricing that was introduced in October 2022. Valve stated that it will be revised on yearly basis but, as we can see in some regions, clearly this is not happening. I would be talking mostly about polish market but the topic is open for other countries as well :)
The prices stopped when our currency was in much worse state than now (October 2022 USD to PLN was 5 PLN while now it is around 4). This leads to situation where, if developers are using suggested Valve exchange rate, games in Poland are amongst the most expensive (or the most expensive) in EU market (a very good example is fresh release of Hades 2, which is only more expensive in Switzerland, EU average is almost 10% cheaper). If we will take into consideration our average salary and compare it with other countries that are in the top section of pricing (Switzerland or EU average) it looks even worse (polish average salary is ~1300 EUR, EU average is around ~2500 EUR [correct me if I’m wrong but I couldn’t find exact data for 2024 for whole EU sector]).
As a conclusion - it would be great to highlight this issue, open a conversation about it and maybe (hope so) someone will do something about this issue and make corrections to it.

so like $15 for every two hours? and every time you load a save you have to pay again?

So you pay for what? $70 and soon more and you don't own the game. This is not concert where each time artist has to perform is just copying files to your HDD.

If I'm expected to pay so much I want to own the game, so I can sell it later once I'm done playing.

It's not other peoples fault that you cannot properly manage your expectations and create a fantasy about what sort of a product it is.

YES and we are asking Stean to update their SUGGESTED prices.
We are NOT asking Steam to set prices for games they do not own.

So why complain about anything then?
The suggested prices may not end up being the final price.
In fact for many regions the price set is higher than the suggested price.

I am not complaining at all (it is you who are complaining that I dare to make a suggestion). I am just asking Valve to update their recommended prices. That is all. Why is it so hard to understand for you? And I CAN ask that. Who are you to tell me no?

I KNOW the suggested prices may not end up being the final price and I do not care about that (why do you?). That doesn't mean I cannot ask for what I am asking for.

I am asking Vavle to update their suggested prices and the devs will be able to do whatever they want with their prices, just like they can now.

if you think a price for something is unfair, contact the pub/dev. they are the only ones that could do something about it. asking Valve to update the recommended pricing, which they already do on the regular, will do nothing for you as that does not affect any existing pricing.

XD read thread again... Valve suggesting price is OUTDATED we have to PAY MORE than USA, Great Britain, Norwey, Euro countries (like Germany) BUT STILL we earn LESS than mentioned countries... Hard to read I suppose... It's annoying how people comment about things like this without even reading properly.

You do realize if they do change the prices, it could be to make the prices of stuff more expensive. If i were you, i would keep your mouth shut to keep the current prices at their current range, or the op is going to make it so the developers will make their games even more expensive.

LOL..valve is a storefront, not in charge of prices. Developers are the main ones who set the prices. VALVE does recommend prices, but are not in charge of it. As previous poster says, contact the developers, there the ones that make the prices on valve/steam.

If you want vale to change recommended prices, ask on steam support.

Yes, Valve recommends regional prices and I am asking them to update those suggested prices.
I am not going to ask the Support. Steam Support is for billing and account issues.

How do you know it is not my country? I do not state my real country on the internet, and i plan on not saying either. Please do not assume you know what countries everybody lives in and please do not tell me how to post on steam. As far as i know, you are not a government official telling me to not to post.

The suggested prices are just what Steam is suggesting, the Developers have FINAL SAY IN THE PRICE.

Complaining about a suggested prices is a waste of time as it is not guaranteed to be the final price.

If Steam does update their suggested prices, that does not guarantee that the price would go down.

IT'S GUARANTEED, because WE ARE POORER than countries like Norwey, Germany, Netherlands, Great Britain... AND WE HAVE TO PAY MORE THAN THEM

VALVE SUGGESTED price IS NOT representing current state of polish currency.

Try to imagine... I will give you a moment... Okay... Ready? That even buying things using currency exchange from USD to PLN is cheaper than by buying games from steam for polish people.

How do you know it is not my country? I do not state my real country on the internet, and i plan on not saying either. If you WOULD LIVE in this country you than would knew that prices are too expensive for most people living there. I can tell you don't live there from your messages.
