Question about a Fanatical preorder deal
Hello,
I never bought a preorder key on Fanatical before, and their site is currently offering Stasis Bone Totem on Preorder for the incredible price of 6.23€.

The dev said in the game forum that the release price will be 19.99, so this means the preorder price is like 70% off of the release price. This is really weird. I am not sure if it is a scam or an error from Fanatical, as they state the game full price is 7.79€ (before a 20% discount) instead of 19.99, and 7.79 is the exact same full price than for the prequel Stasis.

Has anyone any input on this? Is such incredible preorder deal normal on Fanatical? Or do you think they made a mistake with their store page and it will actually give a key for the previous game?

Never had a problem with Fanatical. They are legit and I believe a "isthereanydeal" member.

As far as the accuracy of the product, you will have to determine that yourself.

Thank you for your answers! I will do as you say, and hopefully they will refund in case they give me the wrong key.

Pricing errors happen.
Worst case is they cancel the pre-order upon realising it.

Given they're quoting it as 20% off full price they've made a mistake on the pricing.

Although the Dev doesn't state what currency that price is, so it may be an expensive currency they're quoting.

he means USD, as that is always referenced as a base price on Steam.

fantical f'd up and might have taken the price from the prequel, which is the same.

buying keys in bulk is not the reason. fanatical would also not let the dev intentionally break steam distro agreement by such a large margin.

You were right, they messed up. Now, they have corrected the price on their store.
Fanatical is an official reseller sponsor. Backed by a huge company. No worries.

I just got my key. It is good to know that, despite their mistake, they took responsability and upholded the deal.

Aren't they considered a retailer?

They are an official retail partner with Valve, , just like Humble Bundle and some others. "Reseller" was a bad choice of words, but it's all semantics to most people. Only Legal cares about the exact difference in meaning.

Aren't the relationships with these sellers as a middleman between the publisher and the purchaser, with the publisher responsible for obtaining the keys from Valve?

Come on. You've been here long enough that you already know the answer to that question. Most people who visit the Steam Discussion Forums know you didn't fall off the truck yesterday. Or the day or year or decade before that.
