New games are copy paste.
I'm sure all oldschool gamers know that in comparison to, say, 2005, there are no real "Next Gen" games coming out.

There is an ocean of rewash Bullcrap.

World of warcraft is still alive, which is like playing everquest in 2010, Valorant is a game literally copy and pasted from CS and reskinned with a few special moves, and 7 maps after 3 years.
The upcoming "Blue protocol MMORPG" is just another copy paste korean field boss MMO.

Most DOOM wads are more intricate than these pieces of garbage.

My point here is that I don't think that players should be feeding their wages to these people.
They aren't trying, and are just copying and pasting, like hollywood.
They think they can fool you out of your money by being lazy devs, meanwhile there are quality games made by people that get little attention and no cash support (DOOM Ashes 2063 standalone, Sonic Robo Kart, My bawls in yo jaws)

The thing is there is a lot of new technology, Accurig auto rigs characters bones and has thousands of preset animations, you can make animations with a camera on your home pc now,
theres Unreal Nanite which boosts rendering performance AND makes the game look better (which is handy for games that have render limits for performance like minecraft)
Nanite could be applied to voxels, theres voxels, theres octrees, etc.

You get none of that, you get a crap game thats copy paste, been out for 3 years with 7 maps and it is 80 dollars for a pack of skins (valorant).

Kartrider came out today and I was looking through the forums, They couldn't read the giant text that says the games servers come up at 6 pm today, and then some idiot thought that 6 pm PST meant that he had to wait 6 hours because his timezone said 12 (he does not understand the sun moves)

So basically, be smart or be stupid chumps.

I like how you mention like 6 games to say the whole industry is just 'copy and paste' now.

Name one real revolutionary game that is not the last of us.

Copy/paste always has been part of the gaming industry, at least during the 35+ years that I've been gaming. "Doomclones" was a common phrase, for example. But there is plenty of good and fun stuff that isn't copy/paste. A game like Slay the Spire started a genre (roguelike deckbuilders), for example.

A boring game is revolutionary? Really?

Since when was the last of us revolutionary?

You don't say.

The AAA industry has been recycling games for years now. Once in a while they come up with something really innovative but that's a rare thing.

If you're looking for creativity focus on indie games, but even then, that's not exactly common.

Doom revived the twitch fps genre and did so further with Eternal.

Breath of the Wild removed a traditional formula and even refined the open-world aspect.

Deep Rock Galactic revived the team-team based horde shooter akin to L4D/L4D 2

Your scope of games is very narrow.

I just think that it's ridiculous that everyone feeds into this, while the good "indie" games have like 30 players online at any given time. Call it an assumption, but I'm pretty sure society is retarded.

This is more of a friendly reminder for smart people to not waste 80 dollars on the temptations of a shiny skin in a game that is not even given weekly updates.

Remember back in the day MMORPGS used to have GMs that were PAID to MAKE WEEKLY and even DAILY in game events.

Everything is a Remix

that is the name of a documentary series, that was released 2010-2012 and did not debut on Youtube, that's why its probably not that popular, you will find it on there though.

it revolves around music, but it explains why what you describe, even happens .. and happened since forever with all creative content.

give it a watch, the creator also did a followup last year to talk about the same thing, just more up 2 date, i have not seen it yet as it it starting with tiktok put me off a little.

You call that an assumption? It's a fact lol.

Valheim(an indie game) currently has over 60k online. Deep Rock Galactic(an indie game) has thousands online currently. Noita(an indie game) has hundreds online.

Most indie games are one-and-done experiences that won't have a constant playerbase because there is no online element.

Breath of the wild is no where near as good as phantom hourglass.

Nobody cares about twitch basement dwellers and thots

Deep rock galactic is another generic brand survival FPS like left 4 dead

I'm not going to argue with your perspective of what revolutionary is, I mean systematically.
Nobody cares about "Industry Streaming websites"
I mean NEXT GEN ADVANCEMENT IN VIDEO GAME TECH AND ENTERTAINMENT.

"Twitch fps" has nothing to do with the website...

But thank you for showing this whole tantrum over the industry is just a you thing. I can also tell you haven't played DRG if you think it's just a L4D clone lol.

Vampire Survivors currently has 15K+ players. Slay the Spire sits at 8K+. Stardew Valley has 37K+. Even a game like Graveyard Keeper has 3,5K+ players.

Good indie games have plenty of players.

Why pay 80 bucks for a game when you can wait a bit and get it on a good sale?
