How long does steam take to approve a refund?
Recently I bought Choo-Choo Charles but everytime I open it, it lags really bad. So I have requested a refund yesterday but it still is not approved yet. Many people say it will be approved within 24 hours but mine hasn't yet. It has still only been a day and it's my first refund request ever. Does anyone know how long it takes to approve a refund? I am from the Netherlands btw.

Its indeed still open, but as I said before its been past 24 hours. I have patience but im just curious.

Ahh okay, thats good to know because I have cancelled previous onces and requested it again. but that didn't help anything. I have patience but its good to know for future refund requests.

if refund request received reply mentions a delay, that delay is 3 days.

If you have done refunds very recently, the system may flag your account and delay refunds as its a possible indicator the account is compromised.

As noted, refunds are 'usually' fairly quick, but since every situation is different its impossible to know why yours is taking longer.

I atleast waited a day to see if I would get a respond so it is not that my acc is flagged and this is my first ever refund request I am doing

There was no mention of a delay, I recieved an email saying that steam has recieved my request and that they will look into it and respond as soon as possible

Don't cancel unless the request was already fulfilled. You're always in a queue, it doesn't help to re-enter it as your request gets reviewed sooner or later in any case.

Ahh okay, I thought it would take longer during sales as I did a little research myself how long it would take. Seems it takes a bit longer during the sales

I won't cancel it as if hasn't been fufilled yet. I suppose steam support will automatically close it once it is approved and I have my money?

3 days for me at normal day, but holiday may be longer or when very popular game is realised

It can be a few hours to a few days, longest I waited was 5 working days.
