Valve, please make Steam accounts add gender selection in the settings. The game would be able to give out the gender of the character in the game by this parameter.
For example, the game Rust automatically assigns the gender of the player to each steam account. But in steam there is no gender selection in the settings. It turns out I'm a man, and in the game they gave me a woman.
I ask you to deal with this problem together with Facepunch Studio

Your issue is with FP, since Valve can not do anything about Rust.

Your issue is with FP, since Valve can not do anything about Rust.

You misunderstood. I suggest they just enter a gender choice. And Rust developers will be able to customize the game according to this parameter.

Steam has only a few non-steam games that use data off steam to work, the rest is largely either from cloud storage or via signing in on an extra intergrated platform. Like on Runescape it usually recalls your account and its intergrated via a google system in the overlay otherwise the two dont share much else.

The RUST Developer intentionally made it randomized

Most people that have searched the select gender/skin color, have noticed their stance is that it will purely be randomized. You can change it on your own server, though (or one having such a plugin for just that server). It will not apply to any other server.

That being said, this suggestion is not going to happen due to the Devs own stance on the subject.

They randomly generate the character when you enter each server and tie it to your SteamID. It wouldn't matter what gender you have listed, they will randomly assign it. They didn't want people to have a choice.

One of the reasons I don't play the game. The other is that you can't run the game locally with out a dedicated server.

Why should Steam add something if the developers can just add a choice. Which also works for consoles.

Rust is very much the only game I have ever come across that generates a random character for you that you cannot change AT ALL.
No doubt one of the briliiant ideas of the "trust us, we know what we're doing" guys behind it.

Valve won't do anything. If the number of complaints to FP didn't make them change their mind on it, then there really isn't anything anyone out side of the company can do.

It comes up every now and then, almost no one talks about it or cares about it. They made their decision, they wrote a blog about it, thus their decision is ultimately final unless they change their mind, which I doubt they will change that. Would some prefer it? Sure, even I would. I am content with the player model I have, when you have so much gear on it's not like either can see it anyway. What's more important is the crosshairs and what you're aiming at, or what's aiming at you.
