fun to play, free to play gacha style games

i'm wondering if there are any fun ones people can recommend, most of what makes a gacha not fun to play is when they force you to face grind for advancement constantly shoving in your face 'well if you just paid money, this would all go away' so i'm wondering if there are any good ones where even when you hit the wall, the base gameplay is still fun till you grind it out.

If you like Match-3 games that is.
It IS grindy AF and gets worse with pretty much every update (as in new things to grind for, not making the experience worse). Normally I wouldn't recommend it for new players because it can get extremely overwhelming. But since you asked for it.

Though it totally does shove microtransactions into your face constantly with "special offers", "flash offers", and whatnot. But you quickly learn to just click them away. You do not need any of them. Ever. The only thing semi-worth it is the season pass. And even that stuff you can get for free later on.

Exactly what i'm looking for, more or less the free to play genres are seas of crap with some spekels of good in them, but knowing what is good and what is bad without a 10+ hour investment is hard.

anyone knows other games that have something worth playing in the sea of crap im all ears.

You can have a lot of fun with Genshin Impact for free, but there might be a few grind walls until the endgame. I've received plenty of 5-star characters for free and they've added tons of minigames.

One of the best and puriswt is the brilliantly tongue-in-cheek "I can't believe it's not gambling".

It's a daft simplistic game made to poke at EA and their loot box bollocks. It's only a few pence to buy and it's strangely compelling.
