THIS ACCOUNT APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN USED FOR FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY *account alert* color red
, Please help me what's wrong with this I cant purchase I cant sell in market, using my debit card I top up $25 to purchase FM 21. No one on steam support is responding to my queries?

Scam... Your account has been taken over, likely from API abuse. You probably visited a scam website, logged on using Steam but instead of using Steam you gave your account details away.

I'm on my phone right now, someone else will soon post the steps to recover your account. Or check some of the other threads m

If it's a legitimate red account alert then all you can do is await Support's response. Keep the single ticket open and they will get back to you.

If it's a legitimate red account alert then all you can do is await Support's response. Keep the single ticket open and they will get back to you.

How long does it usually take them to respond? It has been over 25hrs.

As of right now I don't know whether this is applicable to your situation, OP.

Response times vary depending on the case but one to two days isn't uncommon so just be patient.

OPs account is hijacked, he's talking about text on his profile. OP, follow the above procedure ASAP.

He mentioned a red account alert resulting in the inability to purchase which supports it being a legit alert rather than a hijacking with a fake message.

Well, you're wrong. When I wrote the first post I looked at the OP's profile and the error he mentions in the topic was in his profiles description. This was before OP set his profile to private.

This is also a well known scam method by the way. Why do you think I immediately wrote 'scam'? I don't guess or make assumptions with these things. And why do you think I thought it was important to post despite being on my phone?

I saw the thread on my phone when it first went up and there was no indication that his account was hijacked in any way. Based on the thread title which expresses the red alert and the description of circumstances given by the OP, it was definitely not a hijack.

Thanks for all the help Guys! Steam has resolved the issue. It was a legit error.

Yep, I saw the badge on your profile get updated late last night from when you originally bought the game, which meant your purchase was restored and the issue fixed.

Steam's fraudulent activity triggers can be a bit sensitive sometimes but now you're good to go and shouldn't have this issue again. Enjoy!
