Steam decided to ban me after i went to go troll an idiot scam website

steam is telling me on my profile that i violated a terms and service after going to a link that someone put in my dms, i went there just to mess with the,m but i had to log in so i could chat to the support idiot

i dont know what to do

i just went to the site that someone sent me in my profile, i know it ive been to it before to troll people about 2 years ago and this never happened, i had to login in order to chat with the idiot.

please help idk what to do to get rid of this, my 5-6 year old steam account is about to become trash

Steps to take NOW:
1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
3. Change passwords from a clean computer
4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)


Please review how you are logging into Steam, you somehow gave them your log in information. This could of been due to the computer being compromised and redirecting to a fake login, or you using a 3rd party site to login to steam.

Once you are sure you have regained control, you can start trading again. Please triple check any trades you make to be sure they are going to the correct account.

After you have secured the account, please edit your profile back to normal (if it was altered by the hijacker/scammer)

your trolling on a scam website was a stupid idea, you gave them your account log in.

If it was by support, it should show as a banner at the top of your client and an account ban in red on your profile, not the custom information box that even you can edit at any time.
