Most Games desn´t support German Language! Why?
I´m often search with the list in the shop, I´ve set that games without german language should not show, at this moment.
But often are 7 out of ten games without support my language. So I dislike them.
But instead it would be better, more and more games i get into my list doesn´t support german.

I have no problem with english, but i like to chill in the games and not make a englishcourse.

translating text costs money. translating voice-overs costs a small fortune.

the majority of games do not have that money.

But this is not a german website.

As Steam is doing business worldwide it does not matter where the website originates from......and has nothing to do with the question at hand as even games which have a localization might not have that on steam as the publisher here could be different and would have to pay for using the localized Textes......there are some german games on steam which only have english Text/languages on here because of that

Yes, I have await anweres like this. They all are right more or less. But the most interesting thing is. Why, if I set only German supported Games should be shown in the Searchlist, I get more and more Games without a german support presented from steam?

Meanwhile i have excepted that steam presents me games that are written for smartphones and 8-Bit-Machines. But I don´t understand why a simple whish from a customer will be ignored in such a massive way?

I know german is only a liitle group of customers and many of us are playing games in many different languages, I do so too.

where do you set that?

because this list:
https://store.steampowered.com/search/?sort_by=Released_DESC&category1=998&supportedlang=german
shows only games with german language support and there is no problem with it.

The main reason is money. A lot of games on Steam are from indie developers.
Translating a game properly can easily cost several thousand dollars/euros.

Let's be generous and say it's only 2 000 Euro.
Let's imagine the game costs 20€.
From the 20€ Steam takes a cut of about 33%, which would be 6,60€
So, the profit is about 13,40€ for each copy sold.

To break even, the developer would need to sell 150 copies, just to pay for the translation. This does not cover the initial cost of development or the cost of supporting the game with patches and user support.

That's a lot of money for an indie developer whose game does not has the same amount of copies sold as a AAA game like Call of Duty.

Welp choose English to go then, it's a universal language. I'm a Asian still I prefer English in every kind of games or software, hell I feel uncomfortable using anything in my own language. I'm just too used to English.
The reason the developers don't make too many languages in their games is money. It costs a lot and if the sale pool in that country is not large enough, they see it as a waste to add another language.
