Orgin and Steam (EA GAMES)

hey guys,
guys i have battlefield 4 long long time ago on orgin, with other games,
now i am surprised that they are on steam,
does both servers connect ?
and cant i trasform my account into steam so it counts as "OWNED" game?
because i dont wanna buy these again in steam, and i love steam more than orgin tbh

any ideas ?

origin is not giving out steam keys, so there is no way to transform nor transfer the game to your steam account.

They use the same servers, yes. BF4 on Steam requires the use of both launchers (Steam and Origin).

No, you can not get a copy of the game on your Steam account, if you purchased it on Origin.

If you want a Steam licence then you have to buy the game on Steam. Any server-side saved data through Origin is retained though.

If you want to use the steam overlay with the Origin games, add the game as non-steam game for your library, and if doesn't work to get overlay, look up if there a launch command to add on the non-steam game to get it to work.

so when i play in orgin, i can play with my friends on steam ?
does it work like that ?
also, if i buy the game on steam, will i lose all prgress from orgin one?

You will be able to play cross launcher, yes, but it won't come up as a steam game in your profile or library, because, obviously in your case it is not a steam game. You can run it from steam if you add it as a non-steam game in your library.

there are no "both" servers. Steam does not have any servers for any games, every game from every dev must host their own stuff.

also, most mp games are dead and any slight hype player peaks with certainly plummit over the summer.

You still need to add them on Origin, as uses Origin invite. Unless they put in API friend list calling for Steam, that does same thing to matches with the Origin, then that be one way to invite your friend over Steam friends list. But you have to ask someone that has the game on Steam, and ask them to check if it works for them that way, or if it's origin friend invite only.

well, telling that both steam and orgins players can play vs each others makes me happy tbh,
so know i guess these games "bf1 3 4 and stuff" will get fresh again, thank you for everything guys <3
