Can developers ban monthly subscribed customers for playing the game?
Say I'm playing the game as usual such as Final Fantasy XIV. But, I make youtube videos talking bad about the game. One day, the developer has had enough of me and decides to ban me with no reason provided and cannot be unbanned. Is that legal? To be banned for playing the game as usual? To be banned just because the developer hates you? If so, I guess illegal actions should be taken against this developer lol; maybe a hanging is needed.

Not really. Devs can ban you from secured servers or from there forum, but they can`t remove the ability to play the game (under some circumstances).
But I've seen people say in the ToS developers can ban without reason. That means one day bob down the street who programs for final fantasy XIV thinks I'm an idiot for parking in his driveway and he knows I play his game so he decides to permanently ban me without reason and its perfectly legal no?
Starting with a hypothetical scenario coming to barbaric conclusion, now that's classy!
I've been playing a monthly subed game and there are developers banning customers because the customers are making youtube videos makign fun of the devs. That is why I'm jumping to conclusions

I've seen people saying the earth is flat and ingesting bleach helps against COVID-19. People can and often do say crap.
But shouldn't there be any law against this? What if someone invests thousands of dollars in the game and has played fairly since the beginning. But now they've been banned because a developer has a problem with that person outside the game.

This is going nowhere. If the devs abuse there rights, report them.

Why do you assume there's no law against this?
the company that owns the game doesn't respond to the community Everything is done through the one developer. if anyone has a problem with that developer they are out of luck. It's not going anywhere. By the looks of it it seems developers can get away with murder on this one.

I read other threads from other forums and the response is always the same. In the companies ToS they can terminate accounts without reason. That's fine, but what if I'm paying a monthly subscription? Other threads are also saying theres no point taking them to court because I signed an agreement.
every recurring subscription on Steam can be canceled anytime. if you are banned does not matter.

I've yet to see ToS with "without reason", but let's roll with it. Any reason why you'd want to keep on paying for your subscription instead of, like, CANCELING? What's with your assumption anyway? It's illegal to cancel service while still billing! There's laws against that! Do you live in a country where such crap is legal?

Typically, if you are paying a monthly subscription, then they stop said subscription when they terminate your account. Some may even refund the subscription (or a portion there of), but that is on the developer/publisher.

Just because someone pays a monthly subscription, does not make them immune to being banned or having their account terminated. Even World of Warcraft bans and/or terminates accounts.

If they ban you or terminate your account and keep charging you for the new subscription (monthly, 6 month, yearly, ect), then there is an issue and you should contact the bank, but until that point, yes, they can ban you or terminate your account for any reason.

Keep in mind that you can also cancel the subscription if it appears they have not.

They have a right to refuse service, just as any other store has.

And if a developer was threatening to ban me for no reason, I would have canceled the subscription and stopped playing the game long before this point.

Keep in mind this is all based on generic assumptions and agreements and what not.
