As long as you make sure you are completely offline when you use cheats in games, there's NOTHING that Valve nor anyone else can do.

I use them all the time. I've recently bought Dark Souls II cheap. Purely because I got so far on the Xbox version because getting bored with it, and though "hey, that's worth just getting it at this price and having a royal ♥♥♥♥ around with it to see what else is there and I've missed".

So I bought it and cheat like a bastard.

But you have to make sure it's in offline for the game, and to make doubly sure, I physically disconnect my LAN cable (and don't have wifi setup).

Cheat to your hearts content, but ALWAYS make sure you do the steps to make sure you're offline, because if you forget and it remains active when you play online in any game, you MAY trigger something.
Make sure not to use any character online if you messed with the stats or items while offline. You can be shadow banned if they see you use a tampered save file. I'm sure you aren't doing this, but I just wanted to point out even if you only run cheat engine while offline, you can still be banned for using that save file online if it has impossible stats or items it shouldn't have. I don't know the exact details, but I know dark souls games use a shadow ban system and you don't want to get stuck with the cheaters if you ever decide to play online.

No, I'm not doing this, but that is a VERY good point that needs repeating for others here, so thank you.

I'd heard of that shadow banning from cheated saves, but I didn't pay it any credence really as I ALWAYS err on the side of caution, and when I mess around with games, they are always offline, separate save, and so on.

Good call.

**REPORTED FOR CHEATING**
The usage of such software is at your own risk. If you've been using it so far for only singleplayer games and thusly have it not running when you play multiplayer games, it shouldn't make a difference.

Simply put, does the update suddenly change the way you do things? If yes, why? If no, what's the issue then?

**REPORTED FOR CHEATING**
Why? OP cheats in single player games, who cares about that?

Please don't do false reports.
**REPORTED FOR CHEATING**
lol, there is no VAC (VAC ban) on any single player games, just mixed or online games.

BUT, i dont know what this new update. I dont see any change or news about this. I hope i still safe.

What new update?
Steam has no anti-cheat.
